Highlander the TV Series Season 5
Episode Title Rating Analysis
1 One Minute to Midnight *** Immortals and watchers are on the verge of all out war. Part 2 of 2.
2 Prophecy **** An immortal uses the power of suggestion to kill and comes after Duncan.
A Witch from Duncan's childhood helps Duncan defend himself.
I am not sure that everything that happens in this episode is logical in
the Highander universe, but the flashbacks are especially good.
3 The End of Innocence **** A bitter Ritchie must reconcile his differences with Duncan while facing an ancient immortal with a vendetta.
The only thing not logical to me was Clay's final refusal to walk away.
4 Manhunt **** An immortal former slave tries to play professional baseball but kills another immortal in front of a crowd of people.
Why can't immortal's claim self defense?
The 1800's flashbacks and the cop immortal are really great.
5 Glory Days *** A 1920's gangster is a modern hit-man.
6 Dramatic License * A romance novelist writes about Duncan McCloud.
Every attempt in season 5 to do comedy just isn't very funny.
7 Money No Object ** Immortals Amanda and Cory play Bonnie and Clyde in this weak comedy.
8 Haunted *** Ritchie falls in love with the wife of an immortal that he killed.
8 Little Tin God *** An immortal convinces his followers that he is God.
10 The Messenger *** An immortal prophet convinces other immortals to lay down their arms.
11 The Valkyrie *** A female immortal who failed to kill Hitler tries to kill other fascists to compensate.
This show contains about the most feeble looking Hitler I have ever seen.
I felt like I was watching Larry Hovis imitate Hitler in Hogan's Heroes.
12 Comes A Horseman *** Methos is accused of being an ancient butcher. Part 1 of 2.
13 Revelation **** Four ancient horsemen band together to slaughter millions. Part 2 of 2.
14 The Ransom of Richard *** Ritchie pretends to be a wealthy American only to get kidnapped.
Redstone
Another lame season 5 comedy that barely works because of interesting twists.
I really could have done without the "disco" version of McCloud.
15 Duende ** Duncan becomes involved with Spanish dancers.
16 The Stone of Scone *** Amanda, Hugh and Duncan attempt to steal a royal stone in this weak comedy.
17 Double Jeopardy *** A student of Xavier St Cloud comes after Duncan.
The quickening has an interesting twist that Duncan dies first.
18 Forgive us Our *** Keane comes after Duncan for 200 year old crimes.
Trespasses
It brings up moral issues of revenge and justice. It was interesting to see Duncan remorseful for his past deeds. The final resolution was what I was hoping for.
19 The Modern Prometheus ** A very confusing episode about a creative genius poet/rock star who doesn't mind hurting others.
20 Archangel **** Duncan faces an unknown evil that might be a ghost or demon.
The send off to Stan Kirsch is good but short.
I already saw Stan Kirsch state in an interview that Ritchie was going to die. I just wasn't sure how it was going to happen. Leading up to this event I had this dreadful fear that it was going to happen the way it did but the finish turned out better than I expected.
This new evil whatever it is seems almost identical to the "first evil" encountered by Buffy in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" about the same year as Season 5 of Highlander.
